The industry believes that the PCB value of 5g large base station is about three times that of 4G base station. Since 2019, the global deployment of 5g base stations has been accelerated to start the first year of 5g era. In the new era, the demand for communication base stations is rising rapidly, and the industrial chain of related parts and components, PCB industrial chain is one of the most popular fried chicken. 5g base station construction drives PCB demand Prismark, a research institute, preliminarily estimates that most PCB application fields will decline to varying degrees in 2019, but the output value of server and data storage will increase by 3.1% to 4.97 billion US dollars. On the other hand, the growth rate of wired infrastructure and wireless infrastructure is even higher, with annual growth rates of 6.2% and 7.1%, respectively, reaching US $4.67 billion and US $2.612 billion. Prismark thinks that 5g era will stimulate the demand of communication PCB, and the main products are 8-16-layer multi-layer board and 8-layer or above super-high-rise board. It is estimated that the annual compound growth rate from 2019 to 2024 will reach 6.5% and 8.8% respectively. In terms of domestic demand in China, according to the estimation of the Ministry of industry and information technology of China, the number of 5g base stations in China will exceed 130000 in 2019, with 1.72 million new 4G base stations and 5.44 million 4G base stations. Chinese telecom operators believe that the number of 5g base stations in China is about 1.2-1.5 times of 4G base stations. Compared with the number and scale of 1 million base stations in 4G era, the scale of 5g in large and small base stations will exceed 10 million. The production of 5g PCB is very difficult. To raise the industrial threshold, 5g PCB communication board needs to meet the characteristics of high frequency and high speed, so it has higher requirements for multi-layer high-speed PCB board and metal substrate. It is generally believed in the industry that the price of 5g single base station PCB is greatly increased, and the PCB value of each large base station is about three times that of 4G base station. High frequency, high speed, large inch and multi-layer characteristics make PCB not only rely on increasing the input of raw materials to complete the terminal requirements. To print these high-frequency and high-speed circuit production lines not only need high technology and equipment investment, but also need the experience accumulation of technical personnel and production personnel. At the same time, the certification procedures of client side are strict and cumbersome. At present, the average yield of 5g base station PCB products in China is less than 95%, but the high-tech technology also raises the industrial threshold in disguised form, which can lengthen the production and operation cycle of relevant enterprises. In addition to PCB, 5g also improves the demand for data operation and storage. At the same time, with the gradual maturity of 5g technology, data transmission flow will show explosive growth, and the demand for storage and computing will also increase significantly. IDC estimates that the global data transmission volume will increase more than five times by 2018-2025, while the growth rate of China market is higher than the global average level, about six times. In 2018, China's three major telecom operators accounted for 51.6% of China's data center market. It can be said that the largest demand for China's data center is in the orders of these telecom operators. Up to now, the 5g related investment budget of China's three major telecom operators has soared to 180.3 billion yuan this year, an increase of more than 300% compared with that in 2019. With the market's expectation of base station construction rising, referring to the second year of 4G construction cycle, it is estimated that the construction of 5g base stations this year is expected to exceed 800000, and relevant equipment suppliers will take the lead in benefiting, including Huawei, ZTE, Ericsson, Nokia, China information technology, etc. Looking at the upstream PCB industry, the industry points out that the orders in the base station have been scheduled to June, and some Q1 orders are deferred to Q2. In addition, China's three major telecom companies began to actively call for bids after "unsealing". At present, the total scale of bidding calls is about 480000 base stations, and the procurement volume of 5g wireless network equipment of China mobile phase II is far beyond the market expectation, reflecting the future boom in demand for 5g PCB hardware.
